Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed: It will be released on the 17th of September 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 is in development but the dev team doesn’t have enough time to finish the game in time. That’s why they decided to push the release date to the 17th of September 2020. This will give the team 5 extra months to reach their goals.

CD Projekt Red had posted a press release telling that the game is almost ready. It’s playable but there is still a lot they need to do to make it perfect. The in-game world is huge and complicated, there is a lot of content and everything must be tested before bringing the game to players. The release delay will help the team to find more bugs and polish the game much better.

Some of the fans are disappointed, but that’s what CD Projekt Red has to do. Cyberpunk 2077 is a very important game for the studio. If they release it with multiple bugs they will get a lot of negative feedback and the project may fail. That’s why they want to make the game as perfect as they can.

Can the release date be delayed once again? We don’t think so, and there is a strong reason for this. We all know that the game is developed for current generation consoles: PS4 and Xbox One. There will not be a version for PS5 and Xbox X (at least the devs don’t mention this).  The new consoles will become available for purchase by the end of 2020. After new consoles become available, players will start switching to them, abandoning the old ones. Cyberpunk 2077 has to be released before next-gen consoles reach the market in order to get maximum reach.
