Street Cred: Cyberpunk 2077 Reputation Guide
This guide will explain what the Street Cred in Cyberpunk 2077 is and how to maximize the gains of the reputation you receive.
There are two different types of experience in the game: traditional XP that can be earned from main missions and special Street Cred that can be earned from side missions only. This is an in-game equivalent of your reputation or credibility.
Reasons to have a higher reputation
Having proper connections is essential in the game. The more you help different factions in the Night City the better reputation you have and the more famous you become. With high street cred, you receive access to:
- New missions with higher rewards. You will be able to take higher-level tasks and thus receive more money. Don’t forget that you receive not only Eddies at the end of the mission, but you can also find valuable items during the mission. Who knows, maybe you will be able to find a better gun or modification…
- New vendors. You can buy better weapons, armor, implants and so on which will eventually help you to make your character stronger.
This will also make your gameplay more interesting. New missions are always good and better item choice gives you more flexibility in building your character.
The good news is: you are not forced to have high SC. If you don't want to play side missions, you can skip them. But you may have more trouble in the main story because your character will most likely have less high-end equipment and cash. Anyway, it's your choice.
How to maximize gains?
As we have already mentioned, you receive Street Cred when completing side missions. The more side missions you complete, the higher your reputation will be. If your goal is to become a famous “troubleshooter” you will have to help different factions a lot.
Some of the items may increase the amount of SC you receive. For example, if you put on Samurai Jacket you will be receiving 5% more reputation from every mission, which is very nice. You will be able to reach your goals a little bit faster. But you will have to sacrifice your jacket slot for this.
